So, N. Korea was finally dumb enough to test off their ~5 megaton nuke–effectivley cutting off their own nads.
First off, most countries could defecate something stronger than a 5 megaton nuke. Secondly, and more importantly, you have just given the world just cause. This is like a cop wanting to beat a la R. King, and then he sees you steal something. It dosn’t matter if it’s a candybar or DVD; you are screwed. I’m pretty sure the only peopel who would defend N. Korea at this point are the insane college liberal professors, idiot college students, and the UCLA–none of which has any credible opinions.
Does Kim Jong Il think he can take on the U.S. or the world? If he has any sanity left, no. It’s simply the king of a small pond doing parlor tricks to impress is people. Oh look, I don’t give a shit if the U.S. or the world tells me to do or not do things! I CAN MAKE BIG BOMBS TOO! Ooo, aaa.

Unlike Iraq, if we decided to shell N. Korea, I’m pretty sure at least 18-20 million out of the 22 million standing army would vanish faster ipecac at a Cosmo party.

You forgot to mention that the next leader of the UN is most likely to be the representative from South Korea, meaning he’s going to press for the UN to actually DO something about N.K. for once.
Even if that craps out (and its the UN, so it will), he picked about the worst time to do this, I agree.
