You SPIN Me Right-Round Baby, Right-Round!

So, after publishing my previous article on the media spin and saturation, I got thinking about the Foley scandal. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t endorse nor condone sending naughty IMs to 16-year-old boys pages (or girls–funny how this turned into a gay issue as if being a straight pedophile is better than a homosexual pedophile). This is pretty simple. It’s about the fact he did something messed up. He took the appropiate actions and resignec, aplogized, and went into rehab. What else do you want him to do? Look at Clinton. I don’t give a crap what Clinton got sucked in what kind of office, but if he came out when confronted, then it would have saved us a niec big, expensive trial. He did nothing to damage our morality per-say, since I doubt the president is any longer (if ever) a figurehead of morality.

Now, look at the Harry Reid scandal. Not reporting huge profits to the ethics commitee dealing with zoning and disclosure is a pretty big deal. In fact, it’s a $700,000 deal. If some page’s parents’ didn’t bring up their kid well enough to report ot mommy and daddy when a nasty old man sends disgusting IMs, then that’s mainly a parenting issue. When a senator dosn’t disclose information which could defraud taxpayers, that’s a bigger deal. Of course, our liberal media friends aren’t covernig this story as heavily as the Foley case.

What’s my point? My point is this country has serious issues. When something involves sex the left and the right wings go nuts witht he spin cycle. Was Bill Clinton’s major fault about sex or morality? No. Like I said, it was about wasting money on a trial which could have easily been avoided. Was Foley a sick fucked up perv? Yep. Did he actually do anything amazingly illegal? No. So, why all the focus on some sick “homosexual” pedophile as opposed a man who defrauded taxpayers? I’m more outraged by the latter, why isn’t anybody else?

call me retired…thoughts on the Foley scandal i agree that its all parenting problems AND the kids fault…Christ when i was in High Schoolin and before i wouldnt talk to these freaks. thoughts on the Reid scandal…me being an accounting major yeah it is not a good thing to not disclose information…and cause its a profit we would classify it as conservatism (ironic of the Democrat huh)…there are steps to correct this change for the books, thats why i dont think its a huge thing. I’m also not looking at all of the politics of who is whose friend and so on. This action does happen i dont want to say frequent…but it happens enough that i already know steps to take to disclose this undisclosed information.

Do i have a problem with Foley? no not really…Do i have a problem with Ried? no not really. I dont see how either one of there actions directly effects me other then displaying these problems (sexual predators, poor accounting skills).

Side note that i dont think you address heavily enough is US of As thoughts on how violence is more accepted then sex. Sex is a HUGE thing that is not to be disclosed. It is more accepted seeing torture and milicious killing on Public and cable TV (non-HBO, Skinamax) then it is to show a woman’s breast, or someones ass. It is as if the US of A doesnt condome to what is natural but think it is acceptable to show milicious acts as bait to then attack different sub-cultures and groups (etc. video game violence).

But that is just me touching up on it. I enjoyed your points this time and there is a HUGE problem this country is experiencing but these problems are not easily solved. These problems are more toward ethics and morality, rather then assualts at parties of Gov.
